Well it’s been a while since I wrote something on here…  2 months, in fact.  For most of that time it has felt like we have been cowering from the rain.  May was very wet with the occasional dry day.  June was better, with a week of incredibly hot weather, surrounded by rain and cold enough to snow on the mountains.

This photo was taken on the 16th June – there’s still a lot of snow at the top in Hochfügen!
We had walked up to Wetterkreuzspitze, above Hochfügen.  During the winter some friends had skinned up there and skied down via Kegelalm to the Finsingbach.  It was a good ski tour by all accounts, apart from one of the guys broke his pole at the top and then couldn’t find the broken off piece.
Our mission was to find it…

And find it we did!

It’s hard to imagine that it couldn’t be found as without snow it was in such an obvious place!

Another day, another walk.  This time on Ahorn, above Mayrhofen.  Ski lifts out of season always look a little incongruous.

There are lots of neat looking wood piles around, though it looks like someone took extra special care with this one.
