We’d heard that Hintertux glacier was in good condition so we went up to have a look.  It was quite amazing for July – not a patch of glacier ice to been seen on piste.  The snow was soft, similar in consistency to what you would ski on in April.

There were several areas where fleece had been laid to protect the snow.  Here you can see what a good job it does at holding the snow.

Since May they have been working on renovating the Tuxer Fernerhaus.  It is due to be finished in October.  We were very impressed with how little visitors were affected by the building work.
The weather was cloudy and dull and when looking down into the valley the grass looked grey.  However, with ski goggles on it looked bright green.  I tried taking a few different photos to capture the green and this came out the best.
