A storm brought some early snow to Zillertal (and the rest of Austria) at the end of last week. Friday morning saw chaos on the roads, as many cars still have summer tyres on. There were also lots of trees down causing road closures and power cuts where they fell on power lines.
Sunday was bright and clear, with temperatures at 2000m at around 0C. The snow disappeared quickly from lower down, but Hintertux was looking very fine from a distance. It was good to see the mountains covered in snow – winter is coming!
